The Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian explained the conditions that must be met by an acting (Pj) Governor who will later be placed in DKI Jakarta to replace Governor Anies Baswedan whose term of office expires in October.
“He must be a high-ranking middle-level official, so he is echelon one,” Tito told reporters at the Ministry of Home Affairs Office, Jakarta, Thursday (12/5/2022).
Tito added, currently the government is seeking aspirations from any input that meets the requirements of the Acting Governor of DKI. Tito ensures that the profiles received have a good track record and are free of problems.
“We are still in the stage of receiving input. Whether the person concerned has a problem or not, we are profiling, whether there is a potential case or not,” explained Tito.
Tito stated that currently his party is still doing profiling. Later, if the names have been obtained, they will forward them to the Palace.
“In October, a month earlier, in September we will have the names and they will be submitted to the president,” Tito concluded.
Inaugurate 5 PJ Governors
Previously, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian inaugurated a number of acting governors for five provinces, namely Banten, West Sulawesi, Bangka Belitung Islands, Gorontalo and West Papua with a term of office until the next regional head election.

It is known that the inauguration of the acting governor was carried out because the elected governors in the five provinces had expired in 2022. On-site monitoring, the inauguration began at 09.00 WIB in the Sasana Bhakti Praja Room, Building C, Ministry of Home Affairs Office, Central Jakarta.
“Before taking the oath or promise, are you willing to take the oath or promise according to your respective beliefs?” Tito said while guiding the swearing in of the five PJ governors at the location, Thursday (12/5/2022).
“Willing,” they answered.
“I will fulfill my obligations as acting governor in the best and fairest way possible, uphold the 1945 Constitution and carry out all laws and regulations in a straight line and serve the community and the homeland,” said Tito leading the oath.
They were then sworn in according to their respective beliefs and signed an integrity pact which was witnessed directly in front of the Minister of Home Affairs Tito.
“With this, I am the Minister of Home Affairs who officially inaugurate you as the Acting Governor in accordance with the Presidential Decree and I hope that you can serve as well as possible,” Tito concluded.…
